Description: Small oval copper lapel stud featuring an image of a ship on water and the words "SHIPYARD VOLUNTEER". Given to shipyard volunteers during World War I after signing up to aid the war effort by building ships. Men who volunteered for shipyard work were also exempt from the military draft.
