Title: Carved Mantel from Female Seminary at Kirkwood

Description: Elaborately carved high mantel with painted tiles and mirrored glass. Was used at the Kirkwood Seminary founded in 1861 by educator and social reformer Anna C. Sneed (later Anna Sneed Cairns) and then used again at the school when it relocated in 1891 and became known as Forest Park University, later renamed Forest Park College.
