Thomas Allin, a resident of Brunswick, Mo., served as a captain in the Commissary of Subsistence Volunteers from February 1863 to May 1864, mostly at Jefferson City, Mo.

Contains official military papers relating to the affairs of the Subsistence Department in central Missouri. Also includes letter of Edwin T. Allin to his father, dated Brunswick, July 15, 1863, regarding a skirmish with bushwhackers near Brunswick.
