Title: International Harmon Award Presented to Charles Lindbergh by the International League of Aviators

Description: The Grand Medal of Gold of the King of the Belgiums or Harmon Award, a gold medallion suspended from a pair wings attached to a bar pin, was given by the International League of Aviators to Lindbergh during his visit to Belgium. Presented May 28 or 29 1927 by Col. Baron Wahis, President of the Belgian Section of the League for the Internationale Ligue des Aviateurs in Brussels, Belgium during reception upon arrival after New York to Paris flight. Given along with the award was 10,000 francs in cash and the honor of his name being engraved on the International Trophy as the World's Champion. It is the first name to be so inscribed. The trophy resides in Paris, the home of the LIA's central office.
