Title: Lindbergh Medal of Honor Awarded by the United States Congress to Charles Lindbergh

Description: This gold medal was presented to Lindbergh by Pres. Herbert Hoover on the White House lawn in Washington, DC August 15, 1930. The US Congress authorized the award May 4, 1928. Andrew Mellon, Secretary of the Treasury was responsible for creating the medal. Sculptress Laura G. Fraser was chosen April 1, 1930 to design it. Bronze copies of this medal were struck and sold to the public.
