Description: This Cross of Boyca medal was presented to Lindbergh by President Miguel Abadia Mendez of Colombia on January 28, 1928 during Lindbergh's Goodwill Tour. Lindbergh was the first US citizen to receive this medal. It is the highest Colombian decoration. Only given to 10 foreigners. The medal's name comes from the "site of a battle fought August 7, 1819 where Simon Bolivar defeated the Spanish army and secured Colombian independence."
