Title: Bound Invitation to President Grover Cleveland and Wife

Description: Invitation to President and Mrs. Grover Cleveland to attend the Twenty-First Encampment of the Grand Army of The Republic in St. Louis. The invitation includes pages signed by 40,000 St. Louis residents and is bound between carved oak covers showing Eads Bridge and the city seal on front and an image of the Old Court House on the back cover. The book is housed in its original maple and mahogany presentation box, which is embellished with extensive inlay work. The invitation was presented to the President on May 23, 1887 by a delegation of prominent St. Louis residents.
