Title: Lebenswecker Invented by Homeopathist Carl Baunscheidt

Description: A lebenswecker invented by homeopathist Carl Baunscheidt and made by F. H. Droz of Cleveland. The instrument was used to pierce the skin with a cluster of fine needles, not for bleeding, but to create additional pores for toxic substances to escape the body more rapidly. Baunscheidt's homeopathic methods became so popular they were known as "Baunscheidtism."
