Title: Survival Cup Carried by Charles Lindbergh on his New York to Paris Flight - Flight Item

Description: Cloth covered metal flask with mouthpiece designed by Armburst. It was taken on the New York to Paris flight for use if Lindbergh should go down in the Atlantic. This cup would provide fresh water to drink by submerging the vessel in the cold ocean water. The outer, cloth covered surface would have been cooled, causing condensation to form on plates within the cup when he exhaled into it. Carried on the NY-P flight.
