together, then an hour at [William] Roberts, I left & to New York, room [290 Broadway], & bed.

31. Monday. Drawing. Lantern subjects &c. Randal came with Reveille blocks. Took them. Divers matters which I don’t recollect. Called at Dunsiers in the evening. He having left the police, going to Matanzas, Cuba.

June.

1. Tuesday. Drawing, down town &c during the day. Went to Beach Street in the evening

Lotty [Kidder] playing & singing.

2. Wednesday. Being down town met [William] Barth. Divers calls, then return. Drew one Reveille subject out, dined, return, he dozing, I drawing. Finished No 2, then down town together. Left blocks at [James P.] Nagles for woodpeckers, calls, then to Castle Garden with intent to take boat for Governors Island —
