Title: Thomas Butler Gunn Diaries: Volume 4, page 56, March 7, 1852

Description: Comments on Lotty Kidder.

Transcription:

layer of house agency, then Mosaic - Myers, then a Chiropodist stratum. I’m top-most. / Lotty Kidder’s half disenchanted to my eyes. Shes full of pettinesses, and snobbisms, apes judgment of character and has more vanity than should be. Bright eyes and animal spirits has she, but the former can look anger where uncalled for, and the latter are too naturally natural.

8. Monday. Down town. To breakfast. Calls, Lantern Office &c. Saw [Frank] Bellew. Seeing about getting stove pipe ‘fixing’ &, doing all sorts of odd chores for the room. Davis came in the evening. No drawing done to day.

9. Tuesday. Wrote article for Notions, to [Thomas W.] Strongs, saw him, cashed up. To Canal Street. Bought boots of Weber. Davis in the Evening. Don’t recollect detail of the day.
