Title: Thomas Butler Gunn Diaries: Volume 4, page 20, January 24-31, 1852

Description: Mentions Frank Bellew farming an engraving off to Alfred Swinton and Augustus Fay.

At Lockingtons, at [Thomas W.] Strongs &c. Saw [Charles] Welldon. Drawing at night.

25. Sunday. Writing for Strong’s “Yankee Notions,” to the best of my recollection all day. Alf Waud with me.

26th Monday, to the End of the Week and present month. Having gotten over a fortnight in arrear, must perforce score up some division of each days detail. Calling, (I think) on Tuesday at the Lantern Office found the two Engravers who work there, who told me how [Frank] Bellew had taken Outline the first, to get Engraved, he recieving, $25, and farming it unto [Alfred] Swinton and [Augustus] Fay for 15. Whereupon I having called there, and finding that he had also left needless injunctions for its “hurrying up,” called again at the “Lantern” Office in the afternoon, meeting [Richard B.] Hutchings.
