at Goslings Senior, to my room [290 Broadway], and at work till midnight. All the Reveille cuts drawn now — week clear. Bed and bug destroying.

25. Sunday. Wrote copy for Reveille work. Did Rebusses &c. Finished up all next week’s work. Randall came, took away Reveille blocks &c. At 1, to [174] Mulberry Street. Dined at Mr [Joseph] Greatbatchs & spent the afternoon there Mr G & Fred [Greatbatch] being gone out of town to the Jersey ocean shore, Fred to stay longer than his father. Reading, dozing &c Supped at 1/4 past 4, then with Joe [Greatbatch] & Edward [Greatbatch] off, calling at my room for Carpet bag, then hurrying down to the Jersey City ferry, intending to take the 6 o’clock train on the Erie Rail. But no boat being in, and feeling uneasy at having left $ locked up in my room, for an indefinite week or so, I resolved to hurry back for it, Joe taking charge of my carpet bag mean-
