9. Friday. Down town to breakfast. Return, drawing on wood. Dunsier called. Down town at 2, dined, to Lantern Office &c. Writing &c in the evening.

10. Saturday. Down town, breakfast. Met [Thomas] Picton & Atwood in returning from Post Office, Imbibition, at the Sachem Office. Calls, at Reveille & Lantern Offices, Engravers &c. To Brooklyn. Call at Dunsiers Return. To Lantern Office. No-money from them. Got Reveille $10. Sold cuts to [Thomas W.] Strong. Got $3. To [Cornelius] Mathews. Dined about 4, Goslings Senior. The Boston “Carpet bag” hath annexed my Story from the Whig Review — a compliment. To the Battery and a bathe at Washington Baths. Return, call at Pattens. [Joseph] Richardson back from
