Dear Sir


I go to Memphis Tennesee[Tennessee] tomorrow to reside as Sub Cotton agent for the Government under Ellery of New York City I will have a chance to Slip out Some good recruits[?] and Substitutes upon which I think Some money can be made as it is clear to me that there is to be annother Draft I would rather help out Charlton than any place let me know what the prospect is of Charlton wanting any volunteers or substitutes and if we can help the town and ourselves I will go in with you please write me at Memphis Tennesee[Tennessee] where I will be Stationed as soon as you can find time and ascertain what we can do
