Extract.

2 Dr. T.J. Bluthardt having been appointed Surgeon of the 144 Regt of Ills Vols by his Excellency the Governor of Illinois he is hereby directed to present himself to the asst Comsy of Musters[Assistant Commissary of Musters] Dept of the Mo for muster in in that grade by virtue of telegraphic authority received at the Head Quarters from Gov. Yates under date of Sept the 8th Inst. to rank from this date.

Surgeon Bluthardt after being mustered will at once report to the Comdg Officer of his Regt. at Alton Ills. for duty.
