St. Louis, Mo. Feb 19 1876

Saturday

Revd W. G. Eliot,

Dear Sir,

Several persons— mostly officers have Enquired of me. if it needed tickets to enter the University on the Eving [evening] of Feb 22. And as I remember to have received such a ticket on former occasions. I must Enquire of you. If as I understand so far as the Lecture is concerned the Hall will be open to all. Would it not be well to have the Eving paper of Monday and moring [morning] paper of Tuesday announce the fact. And distinguish between the Lecture and the Banquet which latter is of course limited to special guests— I propose to stop at your house on my way out, [word unclear] leave[?] this if you are out

Yrs trly. W.T. Sherman
