Dear. Brother


It has been a great while since I received a letter from you. I have written to you once since I received your last. dated Jan. the 12. I suppose your at T. Field yet. I should like to see you. if it was not so far. I would go and see you. I think I will join the army I am like you was. I am anxious to join there is a company of. Col. M.C. Clurgs[Joseph W. McClurg] men at Iberia I think I shal join them. I will wait for your advise. I have been hunting some of late I have no less than 3 guns. arifle excuse double barreled shot gun and a N.T. piece. I shot a turkey the other day It weighed 1.4. pounds. we are making hay have 3 loads in the barn and 4 in the meadow John Tom and I had to stand guard last night over the cornfield the cattle broke in. I must tell you about my stalk. I have one year land steer and 9 pigs. your stalk is doing well. tell John his folks are wel. my best respects to you and the rest.
