Mr. Nathan Massey


Dear Sir


Yours of the 28th ult[ultimate] has been recd. I am sorry to say that I can give you no information in reference to the matter you desire. Your Sons effects whatever they are would be taken in charge, and are probably in possession of the attending Surgeon, who was in the boat at the time. What that Surgeons name is I do not at this time know. I Suppose however I will receive official notice of your Sons death in a Short time. and if So it will probably give the desired information — If it does, I will write.
