Sir your’s of present month bearing the melancholy news of the death of my son David T. Massey has just come to hand It is a great bereavement to myself and family but the ways of God are past finding out and we hope that what is our loss is his gain, If it is possible it would be a great comfort to know just where his remains were deposited so that I can visit them and make such disposition of them as seems proper

The northin mentioned man David T Massey was buried at Vicksburg Miss Information can be obtained by addressing the Quartermaster in charge of burials at that place.
