Dear husband


i now Seat myself in order to let you know that we are all well at the present time i Received your letter of the 22nd which gave me great Pleasure to hear from you that you was well and hearty i wrote to you in my last letter th [letter torn, word missing] Sis was Sick and was [word missing] bad off but is now [word missing] Recovering fast She Sit [word missing] nearly all Day today we are all getting along as well as Could be expected we have not done much work out yet and Alexander Barret is here now to work and he says he intends to move over whenever Mrs Good moves out of that house we are about one third done Stripping tobacco tell John Good and Sherry that their family is well and all the neighbors is well gregory there has been Some few cases but are on the mend we have a [har]d time to live here [word missing] thing being So high [words missing] 1.75 cts per bushel [words missing] going at one fifty Corn [word missing] 5 to 1.00 for [?] flour 12.00 per barrel country milk 4.50 per hundred Pounds i am going to Send this letter to by hand with Juan Short and i guess it will Reach you Sooner than by mail for this i[s] the 7th letter i have written to you i have had no plant beds burnt yet but will as Soon as the weather admits i have had to pay out a good deal of money this winter for flour and pork i would like to See you Come home very much and i want you to wr[ite] to me often and le[t] [me] know how you are g[etting] along give my best R[espects] to all inquiring frie[nds] and Receive the Same yourself So nothing more but Remain yours truly
