Camp near salem


Dear Father I take my pen in hand to let you know that I am well at present and I hope that you are enjoying the same I wrote you a letter about three weaks ago and I have never received any answer yet we had a snow here night before last about 4 inches deep we are about 25 miles south east of Rolla we are still in the tents I have not mutch to this morning I wrote to you in the last letter to let me know whether you have got my money I sent $20 by Marian Ray before I left st. Louis and $10 in a letter I have never got any word of it since

I would like to see you all but I dont know that I will see you soon I want you to write as soon as you can and dont wait for me for this is about the last letter that I will write write with ink so no more at present your son until death
