Dear Sir

According to previous arrangements, I sit down to inform you how your boys get alone. John S. P. Golden I am happy to say is considerable better than when you were here I am in hopes that good health will be a speedy result with him I will endeavour to do my duty by him to the best of knowledge

Poor Criss Pew[Christopher Pew] died at half past 3 Oclock P.M. of the same day as you left the Hospital his brother feels real bad. he feels and thinks his brother might have been saved I dont know but he could. I think after a man has ventured his life for his country if there is any good care he had ought to have it I feel sorry for his brother he says he wishes he was in my section. I wish he was too. I stay wish with his brother all that afternoon until he died. I spend what time I can with the Pew that[?] and make things as cheerful as I can. his bed is a lonesome place to him Just now Pew L Golden wish to remain as ever your
