States that he has sent his parents blankets and a large map of the United States, which was given to him by the Executive Officer of the hospital.

June 26th 1865

Dear Father [and] Mother

I seat my self with much plesure to drop you a few lines to let you know that I am well at present and do cin[page damaged, word missing] hope those few lines may find you all enjoying the same blessings of life..

Dear parents I have but little to write of importance at present So I will not bother you with a long letter this time.. I forwarded One Box to you this day containing Prinsable my wareing apparle together with too Blankets one large United States map which was a present to me from the Exicutive Officer of this Hospital thare are several little Articles in it that will be very useful to you or me So just appropriate them to any use you see fit to use them for..

The Expressage[?] is Paid I Paid $5.00 to have it sent thrugh so if they charge you any thing more just let [me] know it and I will send the Receipt to you if they want to make you pay any thing Just leave it in the Office until you get the receipt from me

Father if you have not written an answer to my last letter yet hasten to do so as I dont know how soon I may leave here and write as soon as this letter comes to hand and dont forget to let me know whether the 131st Ills or the remander of them has got home yet or not. I am very auctious to know so dont [word unclear] to write if they have got home yet or not and if they have not and if they have not write whether thare are any talk of them comeing soon or not..

Thare is sum talk of the V.R.C[Veteran Reserve Corps] being mustered out but I have no Idear how soon it will be I dont thinks that they will get about it much before my time is out though they may..

Dear Father I have no more to write at present So I will close for the night I remane as ever Your Son truly untell deth
