Title: Alexander Early Steen, General, 10th Missouri Infantry Regiment (Confederate).

Description: Bust portrait of a man in uniform. "General Alexander Early Steen C. S. A. Born St. Louis Mo. Killed in the Battle of Prairie Grove Dec. 7th [1862] Father of Mrs P. G. Renshaw of Pensacola, Fla." (written below image). Steen was a native St. Louisan and Brig. Gen. in the Missouri State Guard who was given the rank of Colonel when the MSG was reorganized into the Confederate Army. He commanded the 10th Missouri Infantry Regiment in Gen. Parson's Brigade (Frost's Division) and was killed at the battle of Prairie Grove on Dec. 7, 1862.
