Title: Certificate for Corporal Frederick Hoff of F Company, Firth Regiment of the Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry. (Union)

Description: Certificate with a photograph of Frederick Hoff in a civilian suit. Image of Lady Liberty, Union soldiers, and the capital building at the top of the certificate. Around the photograph are images of an eagle, flags, a drum, and rifles. Certificate reads: "This Certifies That Frederick Hoff Corporal of 'F' Compy. Fifth Regiment of Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry Served faithfully as a Soldier in the U. S. A. in the War of the Rebellion And was honorably discharged after 4 years and 5 months Service Joseph GrunKemyer 1st Lieut August 1st 1865 Robt Kirkuss Col." Post-Civil War certificate issued to veterans of the war.
