Title: "General Peter Joseph Osterhaus."

General Peter Joseph Osterhaus was a German soldier. He came to St. Louis in 1851. At the outbreak of the Civil War, he joined the Union forces and fought in most of the major battles. He was made Brigadier General of the United States Army in 1902. He died on January 2, 1917.
