Title: Crossing the Potomac. (Plate 8).

Description: Print of four men in a rowboat. One man is standing and holding a rife, two are rowing, and the man farthest aft is looking toward the shore and steering the rudder. Handwritten on back: "Crossing the Potomac." The lithograph was one of twenty pro-Confederate political cartoons printed by Adalbert J. Volck in 1864 and published under the pseudonym V. Blada as "V. Blada's War Sketches." Alternate title for this print is "Marylanders Crossing the Potomac to Join the Southern Army."
