Description: Full-length portrait of a man in a hat and uniform with a sword. MHS stamp on image. "MAJ. HARVEY SALMON [in type] C. S. A. [written]" (below image). "Maj Harvey Salmon" (written on reverse side). Maj. Salmon was a member of the Missouri State Guard and Parson's Brigade of Cavalry. He was captured and spent time at Alton Prison and Johnson's Island before he was exchanged at Vicksburg.
