Title: Horace Lawrence (Union veteran).

Description: Formal bust portrait of Horace Lawrence wearing a suit with a medal pinned to the jacket collar, and turned to the left. "Born in Cayuga Co. ny in 1838" (written on the top of image). "Heoruce [sic] Lawrence 2nd Sergt. Co. E. 123rd O.V.I. Enrolled August 19th 1862 mustered out June12th 1865" (written below image). "Guerin" and "ST. LOUIS." (printed below image). Note on reverse side reads "Born in Cayuga Co. N. Y. in 1838. Enlisted August 19th 1862 in Co. E. 123rd Reg O.V.I. Mustered out June 12th 1865. Was 52 years old [June 10th] when this was taken [Sept. 19th 1892]." Dates in brackets appear in a different color ink. There is a discrepancy between the date born and the age in 1892.
