Title: Formation of Guerilla Bands. (Plate 16).

Description: Print of a man, woman, and child in the left foreground next to a destroyed house. A man with a rifle in the center of the print faces the family and points to a group of men in the background who have a flag that reads "NO MORE SURRENDERS." Handwritten on the back: "Formation of Guerilla Bands." The etching was one of ten pro-Confederate political cartoons drawn by Adalbert J. Volck in 1863 and published under the pseudonym V. Blada as "Sketches from the Civil War in North America." The initial edition of the cartoons was distributed to subscribers and was limited to 200 copies. Alternate title for this print is "Formation of a Guerilla Band."
