Title: Tracks of the Armies. (Plate 15).

Description: Print depicting a distraught man returning home to find a destroyed house and a nude woman laying dead in the rubble. There is a dead dog in the foreground and a vulture perched on top of the rubble. In the background are two more vultures perched on a tree. Handwritten on the back: "Tracks of the Armies." The etching was one of ten pro-Confederate political cartoons drawn by Adalbert J. Volck in 1863 and published under the pseudonym V. Blada as "Sketches from the Civil War in North America." The initial edition of the cartoons was distributed to subscribers and was limited to 200 copies. Alternate title for this print is "In the Wake of War."
