Title: Harry W. Pflager, Major, 14th Missouri Cavalry Battalion (Confederate).

Description: Carte de viste is a full-length portrait of a man in uniform. "14th Mo Cavalry Battalion Confederate Cavalry gift of his grandson - Henry B. Pflager, 1948 Major Harry Wilt Pflager came to Brunswick, Mo. From Pennsylvania - to St. Louis in 1866 - died 1933 at age of 99 years." (written on reverse side of carte de viste). "Harry Wilt Pflager Died 1933 - age 99 years" (written on right hand side of pink paper when opened to expose the "frame"). There is a Harry Pflager listed as a private in Wood's Regiment, Missouri Cavalry (digital records) and a Capt. Pflager listed as a staff officer in Hewitt's. The man in the image is wearing an officer's uniform, so he may have enlisted in the cavalry, but later was promoted. However, this is unverified.
