Description: Bust portrait of a man in uniform. "Col. Pelham" (written below image). "Col. Pelham Gift: Mrs. John Dorsey Ewing Stockton, Cal." (written on reverse side). Two cent stamp on reverse side. Lt. Col. John Pelham was a Confederate artillery officer who was promoted to Lt. Col. posthumously after being killed in a cavalry charge with J.E.B. Stuart. He was known as the "boy major."
