The soldier near the tent in the background is supporting a Union flag and holding a bouquet of flowers. Two civilian men are also in the background. "Camp Lewis 1st Regt. 'Missouri State Guards' Col A. R. Easton St. Louis Fairgrounds Sept 1860" (written on reverse side). Camp Lewis was at the St. Louis Fairgrounds. This photograph appears to be a group of soldiers, officers and staff of the 1st Regiment, Missouri State Militia.
