Title: Theodore Meumann, Colonel, 3rd Regiment Infantry, Missouri Volunteers (Union).

Description: Bust portrait of a man in uniform. "Col. Theodore Meumann 3d Rgt. Infty. Mo. Vols. 1864." (written below image on album page). "Your Commander Th Meumann" (signed on reverse side of image). There is a 3 cent stamp on reverse side of image. Theodore Meumann was Captain of Company K, 3rd Missouri Volunteer Infantry during a 3 month enlistment in 1861. He was probably involved with the Camp Jackson affair. He became the Colonel of the 3rd Missouri Volunteer Infantry when it became a 3 year enlistment regiment. The Missouri Soldiers' Records and Hewitt (1998) list him as a lieutenant colonel.
