Title: Charles Mason Kinne, Lieutenant, Company A, 2nd Massachusetts Cavalry (Union).

Description: Bust portrait of a man in uniform. "Serg't Kline" (written below image). "C Mason Kline 1st Lt and Adjt 2d Mass. Cav. Vurina [?] Va." (written on reverse side of image). Kinne was born in New York but was living in California when the Civil War broke out. He volunteered with the 2nd Massachusetts Cavalry along with over 100 other Californians who formed Company A. Kline enlisted as a private but rose through the ranks to captain.
