Title: William Mittmann, Captain, Company C, 12th Infantry Missouri Volunteers (Union).

Description: Full-length portrait of a man in uniform with sword, wearing a hat. "Capt. Wm Mittmann Comp "C" 12th Infty. Mo. Vols. 1863." (written below image on album page). Mittmann served as a 1st Lt. in Co. B, 3rd Missouri Volunteer Infantry in 1861 on a 3 month enlistment and was presumably involved with the Camp Jackson Affair. He then served as a 1st lieutenant and then captain in Companies K and C, 12th Missouri Volunteer Infantry.
