Description: Half-length portrait of a seated man in uniform. "J. F. Young, Lieut and Adjt. 10th Mo Cav." (written below image). "From the Charles E. Tuttle Co. - 75 [cents]" (written on reverse side of image). Lt. Young was the adjutant for the 10th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry until he was promoted to Capt. in Co. F. He enlisted on Aug. 21, 1862 in St. Louis and was mustered out in June 1865 at Nashville (Missouri online digital soldier records).
