"This regiment was first to charge the inner works at Corinth and lost in killed and wounded 26 of its 30 commissioned officers. 22 of its 28 non-commissioned officers and 270 of its 300 men From Capt. Boyce 4/5/1902 Mrs. M. A. Lure 43 Vaddeventer Place Return to W. P. Barlow Mo" (written on reverse side of image). Col. Erwin was the commander of the 6th Missouri Volunteer Infantry, C.S.A.
