Title: Famous Dry Goods and Clothing Company, Broadway and Morgan Streets. Great Centennial Arctic Soda Fountain.

Description: Print of a soda fountain with men and women standing around it, some of whom are drinking from cups. "Cut from Veiled Prophet's 6th Annual Autumn Festival Magazine of October 2, 1883. At this time the Famous store, a fore-runner of the Famous Barr Co. was situated on 5th and Morgan (now Delmar). This was a soda fountain. The "'purest of fruit syrups' were mixed with soda water to make refreshing drinks. The cost of this magnificent structure was $25,000, a vast sum for that day. Twenty [illegible] and glasses a day could be served at this fountain. In the 1890s a new refreshment was to make its appearance on the market - see cream soda." (written on reverse side).
