Title: Ford Motor Company's first automobile plant in St. Louis at 4100 Forest Park Avenue.

Description: Ford Motor Company's first automobile plant in St. Louis at 4100 Forest Park Avenue. Ford opened the factory at 4100 Forest Park Avenue in 1914 with the goal of producing vehicles close to the company's emerging markets. The factory's production capacity was doubled within the first year because demand for the Model-T was so great in the St. Louis region. Production was temporarily halted during World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II. Ford vacated the Forest Park facility in the mid-1940s and built a larger, more modern factory near Hazelwood, Missouri.
