Title: Creve Coeur Drug Greeting Card Collection

Description: The Creve Coeur Drug Greeting Card Collection consists of a selection of about 240 cards sold in the store from the late 1940s through the 1950s. The cards are unused and include a selection of Christmas, Easter, anniversary, get well, birthday, and other assorted cards some of which were made to be sent to U.S. servicemen. The cards are made by several companies including American Greeting Card, Artistic Card, Charm Craft, Forget Me Not, Gibson, Hallmark, Memory Lane, Novo Laugh, Quality Cards, Sangamon, Sapphire, White and Wyckoff, and Wishing Well. There are also several sets of bridge tally cards including some displaying racist stereotypes. The store was run by pharmacist Dorothy E. Fitch (b. ca. 1912) and the collection also includes snapshots of the store exterior, personal photos, and personal correspondence of Fitch regarding her legal troubles with a former business partner and/or fiancйe.
